Over the past 200 years, the site of KL Plaszow has contained Austro-Hungarian military fortifications, two Jewish cemeteries, and a Nazi labor camp and concentration camp; today, it functions primarily as a public park. Adam Schorin will take us on a walk through the various layers of KL Plaszow’s history and the remnants of its past lives that still exist today. We’ll also talk about what the future of the site holds and the city’s plans to create a museum there. Maciej Fijak, a local activist with the Rescue Action for Kraków, will join us to share his perspective on the changes facing the site. The entire tour will form a complicated image of the site today, which we’ll talk about together.
